Yoga Relaxation
Follow this guided audio of the yoga relaxation technique to conclude your Hatha yoga practice in order to better assimilate the effects of the session, to become more grounded and able to take the beneficial effects off the mat and into life.
Relaxation is the last technique performed in a Hatha Yoga session, in the Shavasana pose [image below], and we strongly recommend that you include it every time you practice. It helps us assimilate the effects of the yoga practice, become more grounded and able to take the beneficial effects with us into life. It can also be practiced as an independent technique with many effects of its own.
Before beginning the relaxation exercise, we suggest finding a space where you will not be disturbed by noise or excessive light. Make sure the temperature in the room is agreeable, as during the course of the relaxation your body temperature will decrease. You may want to cover yourself with a blanket.
Lie down on your back with legs slightly apart, lumbar area of the back as close to the floor as possible, arms placed along the body with palms facing upwards. Aim to completely let go of any worries or concerns.
The Yoga Relaxation technique is extremely effective for both alleviating and preventing stress, agitation or nervousness, and opens us up to the reality of our inner world.
It can generate spontaneous states of calmness, peace, happiness and harmony, and supports deep processes of regeneration.
Remember, whenever you’re in Hedo, you’re invited to join our morning yoga sessions, Monday-Friday on the Prude beach.
