Awakening the Senses - Guided Ceremony
A guided exercise of Awakening the Senses in the form of a 40-minute audio track, complete with selected music to support your journey of sensorial exploration.
Check out the tips and guidance below.
The Kama Sutra teaches us the importance of savouring the sweet, nourishing richness of life itself. The senses are our gateways into the world, and by adding a simple ingredient – intensified awareness – to our sensorial experiences, we can increase their ‘resolution’ so that they become much more alive, vivid and beautiful. With this, we invite you on a journey of discovering high definition pleasure…
Set aside time to dive into yourselves, one another, and make this Sense Ceremony a date-night favourite.
Things to prepare:
- Your favourite smells. You can use essential oils, perfumes, incense… Anything that you and your beloved enjoy. We suggest to use strips of paper or cotton buds to drop or spray some of each scent on, for ease of use.
- Delicious foods to taste. It is always best to use pure foods, such as fruits, honey, fresh herbs (eg. mint, basil), organic chocolate.
- Candles or soft lighting for a soft and romantic ambience.
- Feathers, soft fabrics or even flowers for touching.
- Two blindfolds or light scarves for covering the eyes. If you don’t have such items, you can also just keep your eyes closed when you’re receiving – no peeking!
TIPS:
- Make a surprise for each other by creating your partner’s Sense Ceremony platter so they don’t know what to expect.
- Keep all the props you’ve prepared for one another within arms reach during the exercise to avoid the less romantic scenes of fumbling around mid-way through.
Other things to consider:
- Smell good, look good. We recommend taking a little time to also “prepare” yourselves for this sensual game, so that you will also be smell-able and taste-able in a delightful way! (Pro tip: don’t use perfume directly on the skin, it doesn’t taste good.)
- Find a comfortable space for the exercise. It could be your bedroom, but not necessarily! Just make sure you’ll be warm and relaxed enough to surrender into the senses… Have chairs handy if it will be easier to stay relaxed.
- Ensure that you will not be disturbed by outer conditions, such as loud noises or by others who may want your attention. (We suggest time out from the kids for this one!)
You can now follow the guidance given on the recording provided so that you can totally dive into the experience with one another.
